Director of Engineering
Analytica is seeking a remote/ hybrid Director of Engineering with hands-on Java or Scala expertise to support across various long-term federal government customer engagements in the Washington DC metro area. Ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with clients in both a consulting and delivery capacity to tackle complex, software engineering modernization projects.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Lead a cross-functional team of engineers, SREs, and support engineers to provide exceptional service and support to our federal customers
Develop solution architecture for web and data applications ensuring they adhere to requirements, principles, technology recommendations and patterns, tools and methods for analysis and decision making
Design, develop, and maintain code that meets requirements, is high quality, and performs efficiently and effectively to provide a great customer experience.
Support innovations, defining future state business models, supporting solution and project teams in the implementations, and defining technical reference architecture
Lead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into AWS and Azure environments
Decompose existing monolithic applications into microservice architectures and develop new microservices
Qualifications:
Engineering degree in Computer Science or related field
8+ years of professional experience in software engineering-related fields
5+ years of experience delivering full stack software products of high quality on time and within budget
5+ years of experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, AWS Redshift, AWS Kinesis, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, or Apache Kafka
Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing and coaching software engineers, DevOps engineers, testers and others as part of a web application and/or SaaS product
Extensive experience with software development methodologies such as Agile, Kanban, Scrum, and TDD
Demonstrated expertise in DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, cloud computing, as well as proficiency with such as Git, Ansible, Jenkins, ElasticSearch, Docker, and Kubernetes
Strong understanding of coding languages such as Java, Scala, Python, and JavaScript
Solid knowledge of software design principles, data structures, and algorithms
Ability to secure a US Federal Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of distributed computing principles and architecture with experience using Apache Spark
Experience with near-real-time analytics to derive insights from complex data streams
Experience designing and maintaining DataOps and MLOps in production environments.
Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail
Strong analytical ability, judgment, and problem-solving techniques
Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross functional team
