Data Analyst

The ideal candidate will work across different project workstreams to help analyze and improve quality of care on a range of special topics.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Demonstrate experience working with military or veteran healthcare systems (e.g., DHA, VA), with a deep understanding of healthcare data, regulatory compliance, and mission-driven care delivery.
- Use SQL and analytical techniques to extract, join, transform, and analyze large datasets from enterprise data warehouses and authoritative data sources.
- Apply statistical and analytical methods to support forecasting, utilization analysis, workload analysis, and operational decision-making.
- Develop interactive, user-friendly dashboards and visualizations in Python, Power BI, and/or Tableau to support real-time healthcare analytics and decision-making.
- Work with clinical and operational stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into meaningful, data-driven visual solutions.
- Enhance user engagement with dynamic, drill-through capabilities and actionable insights embedded within dashboards.
- Maintain versioned documentation to support compliance, reproducibility, and knowledge transfer across teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, standardization, and automation of analytical and reporting processes.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, data analytics, statistics, computer science, health policy, or public health.
- Must be able to maintain a Secret security clearance.
- 3+ years of experience in Python, R, and/or SQL for programming, ETL, and data analysis.
- Strong knowledge of statistical programming concepts and best practices.
- Experience delivering analytic dashboard products (Tableau and/or Power BI) is required.
- Demonstrated experience with SQL development, including writing queries, procedures, and performing query optimization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey technical concepts to a wide range of audiences and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks within time constraints and meet critical deadlines.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, standardization, and automation of analytical and reporting processes.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous problem spaces and refining questions through data.
- Proficient in Python, R, SQL for ETL, data analysis and ML development.
- Skilled in data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Experienced with git version control systems (e.g., Github and Gitlab).
- Provide mentorship and technical support to junior data scientists and analysts, fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture.
- Implement automated testing frameworks and monitoring tools to maintain consistent deployment quality across data applications.
- Experience with the Department of Defense or a Federal health care entity.
- Experience in a private sector of health care.
- Experience with building and maintaining client relationships.
