Analytica is seeking a seasoned and adaptable Senior System Administrator to join our infrastructure team in supporting an innovative federal mission. In this role, you will provide high-level technical leadership, engineering expertise, and strategic vision to optimize, manage, and secure our enterprise hardware, software, and network ecosystems.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Windows Server and Linux/Unix systems.
  • Manage core infrastructure services including Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS-related support, and endpoint/server configuration tools.
  • Support virtualization environments, including VMware vSphere or similar platforms.
  • Perform system patching, hardening, vulnerability remediation, and configuration management for EUDs and Servers.
  • Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages to automate administrative tasks.
  • Support server hardware lifecycle activities, including rack installation, blade/server replacement, component upgrades, disk replacement, RAM upgrades, PCIe card installation, and related maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across servers, storage, networking, applications, and authentication services.
  • Provide escalated end-user support for complex issues, serving as the next level of support for Junior System Administrators / support staff.
  • Use ServiceNow or similar ITSM/ticketing platforms to track incidents, requests, changes, and problem resolution.
  • Coordinate with network, cybersecurity, engineering, and service desk teams to support infrastructure changes, incident response, and steady-state operations.
  • Maintain accurate system documentation, standard operating procedures, diagrams, and operational runbooks.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
Education & Career History
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field plus at least 3 years of dedicated System Administration experience.
  • OR 7+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in enterprise systems administration.
Security Clearance
  • Active secret security clearance
Windows Server & Directory Services
  • Proficiency in administering Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), DHCP scopes, and MECM/SCCM collections and deployments.
Virtualization
  • Experience working with virtualization platforms, particularly VMware vSphere
Scripting & Automation
  • Proficiency in PowerShell or Python for task automation and systems management
Linux / Unix
  • Experience configuring and managing RHEL, Ubuntu, or other Linux/Unix systems
Networking Knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of IP networking concepts including switching, routing, subnetting, and Ports, Protocols & Service Management (PPSM)
Security & Compliance
  • Experience supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities including IAVM management, patch management, and STIG hardening across various systems
Hardware
  • Hands-on experience with server hardware including rack mounting, blade server installation, and component-level maintenance (PCIe cards, RAM, drives, etc.)
Service Management
  • Experience using ServiceNow or a comparable ITSM ticketing platform

Preferred Qualifications
The following are not required but will strengthen your application:
  • Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker, or container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, VMware Tanzu, or Rancher
  • Experience writing Splunk queries (SPL)
  • Experience administering IIS web servers and/or SQL Server
  • Experience with enterprise storage platforms such as NetApp ONTAP or Dell EMC OneFS
  • Experience with identity and authentication technologies including SSO, SAML, ADFS, or Okta
