Java Technical Lead
The ideal candidate is a senior engineer who is comfortable leading development teams, interacting directly with federal stakeholders, and ensuring solutions align with CMS technical standards and enterprise SDLC practices.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Lead design and development of enterprise applications using J2EE, JBOSS, React, and AWS
- Plan, manage, and oversee technical work across multi-platform, multi-tool environments
- Ensure full alignment with CMS Technical Reference Architecture (TRA) and SDLC standards
- Direct system design, development, integration, and deployment activities
- Provide technical leadership across database design, file interfacing, and system integration
- Collaborate regularly with CMS stakeholders to refine requirements and resolve issues
- Oversee processing, validation, and management of healthcare and provider data systems
- Ensure all deliverables meet CMS quality standards, security requirements, and development principles
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production and integration issues
- Mentor developers and enforce best practices in coding, testing, and documentation
- Continuously improve system performance, scalability, and reliability
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise application development and technical leadership
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- J2EE platforms (JBOSS preferred)
- Modern front-end frameworks (React)
- Cloud environments (AWS)
- Deep understanding of enterprise SDLC, system architectures, and infrastructure toolsets
- Experience operating and supporting multi-platform, distributed systems environments
- Demonstrated experience with CMS systems or healthcare data processing
- Knowledge of provider data, claims processing, or healthcare information systems
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage end-to-end delivery
- Strong communication skills with experience engaging federal clients (CMS preferred)
- Ability to ensure compliance with CMS standards, security, and quality requirements
- US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. federal security clearance
