Hiring Process at Analytica

At Analytica, we follow a structured hiring process to ensure we select the best candidates for our team. Here is an overview of our hiring process:

Recruiter's Call: The process begins with a recruiter reaching out to potential candidates. During this initial call, the recruiter will provide an overview of the position and gather preliminary information about the candidate's background and experience.

Rounds of Interviews: Based on the initial call and the hiring manager's approval, the recruiter will establish direct interviews with the team. There may be multiple rounds of interviews that is designed to assess the candidate's qualifications, skills, and fit for the role.

Final Decision: After the interviews, the hiring team will review the candidate's performance and make a final decision. If the team decides to present an offer, the recruiter will directly call the candidate to discuss details such as salary, benefits, start date, etc. Others will also be notified through email or a call.

Impersonation Scams

We would like to bring to your attention the increasing number of impersonation scams targeting organizations worldwide. These scams involve individuals pretending to be someone from the hiring team such as HR manager or recruiters, to deceive you into providing sensitive information or making unauthorized transactions.

To protect yourself, please follow these guidelines:

Verify the Sender: Always double-check the sender's email address and contact details. If something seems off, do not hesitate to reach out to the person directly using a known and trusted communication method.

Be Cautious with Requests for Sensitive Information: Be wary of any unexpected requests for sensitive information, such as passwords, financial details, or personal data. Legitimate organizations will never ask for such information via email.

Look for Red Flags: Pay attention to any unusual language, spelling mistakes, or urgent requests that pressure you to act quickly. These are common signs of a scam.

Report Suspicious Activity: If you receive a suspicious email or message, report it immediately to our IT department. Do not respond or click on any links or attachments.

Stay Informed: Keep yourself updated on the latest scam tactics and best practices for cybersecurity. Regularly attend training sessions and read our security bulletins.

Analytica is seeking a Data Scientist to support a mission critical endeavor. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with clients in consulting and delivery capacity to provide solutions that tackle complex problems. Analytica is looking for bright, motivated professionals who want to continue their careers in the data analytics field.

The data scientist will support the agency’s mission to provide high-quality healthcare for beneficiaries and their families. The ideal candidate will work across different project workstreams to help identify vulnerabilities and provide analytic support to investigate special topics like the continuity of care as active-duty personnel transition to veteran status and VHA services. A successful data scientist will be able to think creatively about the data sources and analytic/coding techniques needed to solve problems, connect policy to the analysis process and interpretation. The data scientist must build algorithms that align with existing priorities and will encompass various algorithm types (such as rules-based and machine learning). Experience delivering analytic dashboard products is required, and experience with AI/ML or LLM methods is desired.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Develop algorithms from vulnerability through implementation.
Provide supporting documentation, business requirements, presentations, and other information as required around the assigned analysis.
Develop supporting materials for the algorithm and analysis, including PowerPoint slides and summaries, that provide team members with the appropriate background and contextual information.
Perform preliminary analyses to produce data necessary to present new algorithms for approval during monthly collaboration and algorithm workgroup meetings.
Complete Quality Control activities to ensure error-free execution and efficient runtimes.
Use Atlassian Jira to document progress on assigned tasks.
Produce and update documents, including specifications and training documents required for algorithm approval for development and release.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data analysis requirements and translate them into effective Power BI dashboards and reports.
Design and develop interactive and visually appealing Power BI reports dashboards, and data visualizations.
Provide technical inputs to agile processes, such as epic, story, and task definition, to resolve issues and remove barriers throughout the lifecycle of client engagements.
Design and implement AI/ML methods, including LLM and bot technologies.
Mentor, help, and grow junior team members.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or master’s in data analytics, statistics, health policy, or public health.
7+ years of experience of R or Python, SQL, and/or SAS programming skills.
Familiarity with statistical programming concepts and best practices.
Familiarity with ML development concepts such as creating training/testing sets, building appropriate validation sets, understanding how to define a target, and algorithm evaluation criteria.
Machine learning skills required such as: experience building ML algorithms (e.g., regularized regression, random forest, XGBoost, neural networks, etc.)
Demonstrated SQL development experience by writing queries and procedures and performing Query optimization.
Strong candidates will describe their experience with investigating, reporting, and justifying algorithm results.
Experience in presenting the results of their algorithms, depicting the insights realized, and explaining the relevance of their results to the organization’s business challenges.
Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally with a wide range of audiences and maintain interpersonal relationships.
Ability to work within time constraints and manage multiple tasks against critical deadlines.
Must be able to maintain a secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Military Healthcare background.
Experience with Databricks or other notebook development environments.
Experience with ESRI or other geospatial mapping and analytics tools.
Experience with Tableau and data visualization techniques.
Experience with MLFlow, MLOps, and AI/ML programming techniques.
