Analytica is seeking a  remote Data Governance Lead to support a federal government client engagement in the Washington, DC metro area. As the Data Governance Lead, you’ll be responsible for driving the adoption of data management, governance and sharing practices that will make you a trusted partner in the stewardship of critical data for client organizations. 

The ideal candidate will drive the data strategy and data governance. They will have a strong background in data management, a deep understanding of federal data standards and architecture best practices, with proven technical experience in leading teams to implement these standards effectively.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):  

  • Lead the development and enhancement of a shared enterprise data environment that meets a diverse set of Analytics, Reporting, and Data Science federal requirements.   

  • Support federal clients in strengthening data governance efforts to include development, maintenance and updating of a strategic and tactical Data Strategy and Roadmap, Data Governance Adoption, and Implementation Plan, including related data priorities, performance measures and indicators. 

  • Develop data governance framework that aligns with user needs and data governance practices and standards. 

  • Implement data architecture initiatives on data quality, data governance, data standards, and data policies across all core business functions to ensure consistency in data definitions and data usage 

  • Apply knowledge of reference models to data architecture design and maintain alignment with standards and best practices for ontology representation. 

  • Support creating efficiencies across our client environments through shared data support services and document and evaluate client processes around data.  

  • Lead improvements in areas such as data access and availability, Metadata management, Master Data Management, data governance, coordination and planning for data management, data knowledge and skills, data collection, information collection processes, staff capacity, open data, among other areas. 

  • Build relationships with client oversight offices (policy, privacy, legal), other stakeholders, and other program offices and directorates.  

  • Engage and communicate with leadership – connecting strategy, policy, and planning for constituent groups that may not be familiar with data governance or management approaches. 

Basic Qualifications:  

  • US Citizen with the ability to secure US Federal Security Clearance  

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Engineering Management, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program, or related equivalent additional experience. 

  • 10+ years of data management, data governance, data engineering, data modeling, data strategy 

  • 7+ years of experience successfully establishing effective data governance/management in a large, complex organization with expertise in data governance for big data space with knowledge of various MDM/entity resolution solutions 

  • 7+ years expertise in big data ecosystem for data integration, data storage, compute framework, analytics, and advanced visualization (i.e., ETL Tools, Streaming Tools, No-SQL data bases, Spark, Airflow, ELT tools like DBT, Reporting Tools, AI/ML Platforms) 

  • 7+ years of experience and knowledge of establishing an enterprise data literacy, education, and outreach plan 

  • Expertise in Databricks, with experience in Lakehouse, Unity Catalog, and Delta-Sharing, 

  • Experience working in government or a large commercial enterprise in an enterprise architect, cloud architect, or data architect role where you have applied industry standards such as DAMA-DMBOK, DGI, TOGAF, or DoDAF at scale 

  • Experience and knowledge of Federal Data Strategy, Federal Open data initiatives and associated action plans 

  • Proven Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally with a wide range of audiences and maintain interpersonal relationships.   

  • Ability to work within time constraints and manage workstreams against critical deadlines.
